Mariano Ponce was part of a group of Filipino liberals, students, and intellectuals (also called Ilustrados) who formed the Propaganda Movement in Spain. In this short interview clip, Dr. Jaime Veneracion explains how the formation of the bi-weekly newspaper La Solidaridad (co-founded by Ponce, Rizal, and del Pilar among other pillars) was used to imagine the birth of a Philippine nation.
